Just setting up a generation 2 WD Live and stupidly set the wrong video settings in component and now have a blank screen.
Tried reset via paper clip no luck. The screen briefly flickered but then went blank.
Any ideas appreciated

Connect the composite video cable to your TV, go into the video setup and set the proper video resolution/frequency, then switch back to the component cables. If the composite output won’t sync to your TV, the WD box might be set to the wrong type of output (PAL vs NTSC). If you hold down the reset button for over 10 seconds, it will toggle the composite output between NTSC and PAL. If you hold the reset button down for less than 10 secoinds, it will just do a hard reset without switching between PAL and NTSC.
I posted this on your original post.
Another thing to try. Plug in the WD supplied AV lead into the player AV socket and connect only the yellow plug to one of your component inputs on the TV, if your outputs / inputs are working correctly you should get some sort of picture. You can now hopefully adjust the component output. If you don’t have the WD AV lead you can use the WD component lead by plugging it into the AV socket and using the green plug only.

Hehe…I just plugged the lead into composite output did the business and then back into component. I will now stop fiddling like some deranged monkey. I just waiting for a toshlink cable and a new USB stick to finish the job oh and reprogram the remote (pronto)
then the jobs a goodun …yeah right who am I kidding…
Thanks for your help
