Just setting up a gen2 and stupidly set the wrong video settings in component and now have a blank screen.
How do I reset the video so I can change video settings?

You could connect by composite and change or maybe reset to factory defaults by pressing paperclip button.

Compsite is not an option sadly and sadly the paperclip did not work. The screen breifly flickered but then went blank.
Any other ideas?
What’s a “Gen 2”?
This forum is for the WDTV Live SMP, which doesn’t have component output.

Sorry - WD live circa 2010 - Just bought one second hand been fine till I started “fiddling”
You could try again with resetting. Don’t connect the player to anything other than the power supply, wait for about 5 minutes to make sure the player is fully booted up, press the reset button for about 5 seconds and then release. Wait for about 5 minutes for the player to reboot. Disconnect from power and connect component leads (make sure you use the correct socket on the back of the player and the lead that came with the player), connect power and see if boot screen is now seen on the tv.
Another thing to try. Plug in the WD supplied AV lead into the player AV socket and connect only the yellow plug to one of your component inputs on the TV, if your outputs / inputs are working correctly you should get some sort of picture. You can now hopefully adjust the component output. If you don’t have the WD AV lead you can use the WD component lead by plugging it into the AV socket and using the green plug only.
