I have a simple MCM wireless net setup - 3 users (1 is a windows 7 and 2 are windows 8.1). I have several private shares on my WD MyCloud Mirror and users do not have acess to all private shares.
I can use the WD MyCloud app to look at any file in any share from one of the laptops (even if there is no file acess setup via dashboard). I can double click on a file name in a private share and bring up the correct app - for example, clicking on a spreadsheet file in a private share will start up Excel and load the sheet - even if I dont have password access set up to that share for that user. But if I start up Exccel and then navigate to the same file in the same share, it wont open - I get a password request. I give it the correct password for the correct user and I get an “access denied” message.
This behavior is the same on all 3 PCs on my network.
