I'm dissappointed

I was really excited when my home cloud arrived today. The first thing I see is a small paper showing how super easy it is to install!

Okay. I do have access to my cloud through the web browser.

The WD Discovery won’t log me in though. After I put my username and password, it’s just chewing and nothign happens. I have uninstalled and re-installed several times. I followed the advice from another user in the forum to give the program full access, but nothing changes.

WD security and drive utilities says that I’m not connected to any WD product.

I have followed every ■■■■ guide at support.wd.com - which by the way is extremely annoying.

“Do you have this problem? Follow this link!”

Opens a new window which doesn’t say ■■■■ about the probllem, but gives you 5 new links - that all also opens in new windows.

So after having 200 tabs of nothing but more links, and 3 hours later, I’m still right where I started.

Oh I DO see the drive in the network now IF I anter the address “\MYCLOUD-******”

YAY!!

NO!

When clicking on it all I see is a folder saying “public”, and there is nothing in it. Even if I put stuff in it, it doesn’t show in the drive when I check in my browser. So, completely useless.

And yes, I have entered my username and password, but I’m still not getting anywhere than the “public folder”

What kind of ■■■■ is this? Is anyone even working at improving these things? Maybe make them a bit userfriendly!?

Oh, and you really should fire whoever writes the so called “guides” at https://support-en.wd.com/

If you weren’t pissed off before you went there, you are definitely furius after spending a good amount of hours there without getting anywhere.

Seriously, go to github or something and ask for help with your softwares.

User Manual: My Cloud Home and My Cloud Home Duo (westerndigital.com)

As if I haven’t already read through it all…

The program WD Discovery doesn’t start any more because I read the manual for a 5th time. Ot re-install the program for a 50th time.
