IOS Iphone & Ipad WD2Go App

This app is not working for me.  I have remote access enabled.  I can log into my live duo see the shares on the drive when I try to access a share I get the error Device Offline  This device is inaccessible: only local files are available.

I have rebuilt the server.

I have rebooted the drive.

I have rebooted the iphone and ipad.

Remote access is enabled.

This drive because of how slow it is and the software because how buggy it is become a larger disappointment everyday.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Hi,

I know little about the drive as I unboxed mine on Sunday, but I successfully connected using the IOS WD2go software.

Enable UPNP on your router if it supports it. No need for manual port forwarding. Select connection options automatic.

When first connecting your phone ensure that it is connecting over WIFI.

It should detect your device.  Unter your credentials.  It should then work over 3g.

I am not much for reading guides so there may be an easier way.

I have an Airport Router so it does not support upnp exactly.  But I can access the drive no problem on the internet and I can access the shares on the drive no.  It just will not let me see any of the files.

OK  . . . so you can connect fine and see the device.  You can see the shares and but you cannot see any of the files.  Right?

From your response I am assuming it is not a NAT problem but if it is you could manually try forwarding TCP 443 and TCP 8080 to your internal IP.

Does it behave the same when you have a local connection (connected to wireless)? If yes my guess is that you have an access control problem.  Create a new user and ensure it has access to the files via PC.

Try then to connect using those credentials.  I haven’t really enough to help further at this stage.  Will try to replicate if the kids don’t bother me on the weekend.

Yes it acts the same way no matter the connection.  It also does not going thru the website on my macbook.

However I can access the drive fine on the network with computer.

Very frustrating.
