JoeySmyth's Aeon 'ish' Home Screen + Gallery theme + list view fix **update**

sorry :frowning: … but that is the work i posted here…

http://community.wdc.com/t5/Themes/My-Aeon-ish-STAGE-2-beta-Preview/td-p/181990

(and what im currently working on)

From memory (it’s late) … they are 880x360 with no movie info, just a fanart and poster.

Info is metadata generated on the Hub. (sheet is also used for music)

Navigation speed is pretty quick with method … dunno, maybe about 70 movies in about  20-25 seconds.?

Did a test tonite with Music Sheets… only 20 albums… took about 2-3 seconds to navigate through them.

Would have to get a stopwatch for an accurate time.

Sounds good.

You have even more respect from me, after me seeming to lose a week playing about with Movie Sheets

it never stops, you adjust one thing, then you try another…life consuming.

Here is my remix of the Moviesheet

Credits to Joey/drizzt09 and everyones images I used from Template Mega Pack 2.0.

Mmm

If you follow drizzt09 last message it has to be like this

  • Due Date.avi

  • Due Date.xml

  • Due Date.jpg

Where is the Xml file there, thats what sets it all up.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for help and support.

I was using the demo folder, to view the thumbnails, but the demo folder don’t have the xml’s files for every movie, so this was the cause for not showing the thumbnails.

Now i gonna have to make my thumbs with thumbgen

Thanks again and sorry for my mistake

silly question,

have you got your media library turned on ?

Yes

thought of something,

in the download,  the ‘Demos’  are in a folder named  " Demo Folders"

in this folder are the subfolders…

Movie Demos JPG

Movie Demos PNG

Music Album Demo JPG

Music Album Demo PNG

" Cut" and " Paste" these folders to the “Root” of your “HDD”

You should now see the hub message ‘Compiling Media’   (did it display this the 1st time you tried ?)

_______________________________________________________________________________

EDIT:   Well i just tried to replicate the problem…  i left the folders in the main folder “Demo Folders”

and it still worked.  (as soon as i cut and paste them to the hub, i had to wait a few seconds for the Media Compiling message to disappear.)

only other things i can think of, are:

* Im using Firmware 2.04.13  (if that has anything to do with anything)

*Check that the following XML’s are in the demo folders

Movie Demos JPG.xml

Movie Demos PNG.xml

Music Album Demo JPG.xml

Music Album Demo PNG.xml

* Check the “Attributes” of the files and folders on your PC.

If they are ‘Read Only’ … change them to ‘Archive’

* Change the theme/appearence back to "Mochi (Default)’  and then back to ‘JSMOD’

(in case the theme didnt apply properly)

Im out of ideas, ive tested and re-tested on my hub and it works everytime.

have no idea why it is not working for you :frowning:

Hi Joey,

Checking the demo folders, i saw that the xml’s files is not there, so i have to create then. After doing that, the thumbnails was showed perfectly.

I’m using the last firmware, and when i put the demo folders in my hub, i saw the message ‘Compiling Media’ .

Thanks for your help and support.

PS: There’s a forum in Brazil, talking about wdtv live hub, and i was wondering if it’s possible i talk there about your gallery theme, posting the links?

glad you got it working, but the xml’s were supplied in the Demo folders … so dunno what happened to them when you extracted the rar.  (i checked the D/L package yesterday… and they were there)

:wink:Hello Joey, AMAZING work, really… wonder if you can help mister, I have been working a little on your mod, and mainly working the list view, I have been doing pretty much the same as you…however how do you get all the thumbs looking so great! i can do it, i have spent DAYS! yes DAYS! trying to get it looking as good as yours! I know they say leave it to the master! I guess I will have to… but I love you list view for your movies, music ect, cant wait to try it…I really would love to be the first If I may!!! many many thanks!

@drizzt09/JoeySmyth

Have I had a eureka moment, or have I been tinkering with these moviesheets far too long now ?

But…

I was puzzled with the Tmdb backdrop popping up a nano before the WD screen saver kicked in when on a particular movie Thumb/sheet, so I looked in the XML files and sure enough all the Urls for thumbs and backdrops are there.

I deleted the lines from the first few Xmls and I think it has sped up the selecting left and right when in Gallery view.

This makes sense to me,as even though this Theme does not show them, maybe it is trying to ? and with getting rid of that info, it uses less resources…

sorry mister should have sent them in my last post got some pictures though really not very good quality…

I usually just delete the xml anyway, figure I dont need it with moviesheets.

Hi was wondering does this work with all views ( list /gallery view etc)
thanks

Hi,

Quick question, on the TV Show template, is the episode image supposed to show up in the upper right of the sheet where is says EPISODE XX. How do I get the image there? Thanks

geoff

if you are using my TV show template… yes

You will see this:

Its automatically filled by the template in TG. It pulls the info from this screen. Top right window-Movie information [need to scroll down]
