Loss of sound via HDMI switch

Hello All

I have had a WD Live TV for a little while now, big fan of the box and I am hoping someone can help.

I have a Monoprice HDMI switch and when I plug my WD Live into the switch I get video, but no sound.

Going direct HDMI has no problems.  I am hoping someone has a suggestion on how to fix that.

i have the same problem.

nothing when viewed through monoprice HDMI switch.

I have two different make monoprice hdmi switches (I know one is a “joytech”) on two different TVs for my two WDTV Live.

I have this happen with both, but I don;t think it is an issue specific to WDTV since my  BD and xbox player does this occasionally as well through this switch.

I have found varying the order the devices are turned on matters. Try varying that.

Aslo there can be DTS issues depending on your TV so sometimes you may get no sound from some specific files

@HPFD44 - this is exactly my problem. I have the monoprice switcher that does not work with my XBox and now does not work with WD Live TV Plus. My BD player works thankfully.

I will try varying the device order.

Other than that were you able to solve it? It appears that you have just resorted to manual switching of cables.
