MyCloudMirror can only be accessed outsite of network

Hi.

I have:
(1x) MyCloud 2TB
(1x) MyCloud Mirror Gen2 6TB

Both are connected to same network, and to same router.

  • MyCloud 2TB works perfect. nothing is wrong here.

  • MyCloud Mirror 6TB was accessible in wdmycloudmirror.local until the end of main setup. After setup, it is not recognized in network places. “wdmycloudmirror.local” also does not work anymore. I can only access it using external IP, even if I am in same network.

I already reset the drive, but when it finishes setup, I cant access it again. Only using an external IP (even if I am conected in same network)

I am not a newbie. My first MyCloud (not the Mirror model) works perfect, and is discoverable on network

I am using Windows 10, with latest updates.

How can I make the Mirror drive discoverable on the network?

Hi,

When the My Cloud Mirror finishes the setup process, are you able to look at the dashboard and confirm if the device is running the latest firmware version:

Hi.

Yes, I can access it, using my external IP. It is using latest version. As soon as I finished setup, it was updated

Device is not discovered in same network I am in, or in same network as other Mycloud device.

Is there any porblem of having 2 Mycloud connected in same network?

I just cant access it using:
http://wdmycloudmirror or http://wdmycloudmirror.local

Any ideas?

Thanks!

any idea on how to fix this?

How to contact WD support? Shouldnt they reply here?

Thanks!

What is wrong with WD support?

They dont reply to my support tickets.

I have a 500€ item, that I cannot use.

What a piece of junk

I will have to return it.

I noticed that your case number shows that you emailed support today. Our support process can take 1 to 2 days to get back to you.

Hi.

That was my second ticket. First one was on 4th June. Check history.

Anyway, if there is any help on this, is appreciated.

Any aditional information needed?

No, this is not a tech support forum. So, they won’t be here.

Yeah, I see it now. I have escalated you to them. Have you tried finding the My Cloud Mirror from another pc on your network? Just to make sure that it’s not an issue with your pc. Also, you haven’t renamed the drives to the same name have you? If so, rename them to something different.

Is there any chance that your pc firewall is blocking the one drive? Maybe turn it off for a moment to see if the drive shows up.

Thank you for the reply.

Yes, I have several computers on same network. It does not show on network either.

Drive wasnt renamed. In fact, after first setup, I lost access to \wdmycloudmirror or \wdmycloudmirror.local

I just noticed that if I use the external IP \94.132.78.232 I can access it. But drive is never found on network.

I will completely restore full system and files to original states today. (I did that first day I got problems, but I will repeat all steps)

If you’re open to doing this, you can disconnect both drives, and then connect the My Cloud Mirror to see if the network picks it up.

Hi.

2 days ago I have completely wipped the drive and restored to original
state.

Everything is working now.

Thanks!
