No more access to the Public folder on My Cloud Home 8TB device

The Public folder is lost for My Cloud Home 8TB device.
It works fine for about 2 years, but now I lost access to the Public folder.
The Privat folder is still visible.
How to get back access to it?

@Keerti_01 So WD decided to delete our public drives without warning? What kind of ■■■■ is that? How do I get the data off the public folder? It this is truly gone we know a class action will be coming. this is outrageous!

It is crazy this drive has less functionality than my old mycloud drive, it was a pain in the ass to get my devices to connect to the public folders and now my data is gone because WD gave me a firmware update without telling me that data is no longer accessible. I hope for their sake they make this right or their lawyers will be making money off WD’s incompetence!

As I wrote above I used my Public folder according your guide for about 2 years.
All my photos, videos and movies are there in the Public folder, because I had access to them from my LAN, Android TV, phone and PCs as a regular NAS.
Now I had no access to this folder. As a matter of fact there is no access to the Public folder from your WD Backup software as well.
I use only PC, Adroid phones and Android TV, not MAC.
So is this a new update wich cuts this functionality or some kind af deffect?
Is there a firmware I can use to update the device manually to restore the Public folder access?
The drive is full, is this a problem for the updates.
I dont use other functions than Public folder as NAS. I bought the device for this purpouse, because I have My Cloud 4TB and I think My Cloud Home is a successor device.
Help me get access to my files from Public folder, Please.

@SVETLIN_MILEV are you on the new firmware 8.5.1-102? I am so I am guessing you are as well which is why neither of us can access any data on that drive. In fact i cannot even see the public drive under windows network anymore.

@SVETLIN_MILEV I found success by connecting to my device via IP address and I am able to still see everything. I hope the same works for you.

It’s not working with the IP adress for me. Probabbly the device ahve some firmware problem, because in the debug log folder it have a lot of errors.
I’ve already oppened a case at the support and I’m waiting for solution…

please never ever take the public folder away from us!
It’s one of the reasons why I bought Mycloud home, to be able to share it on the internal network with the TV and other computers
