Hi,
I’m using 1.06.15_V.
I’ve bben using Network Shares with a shared folder on my windows XP with no password protected for a long time.
Today, I start using windows 7. I shared the same folder on windows 7 without using any password. The problem is that I can’t access this folder using network Shares from WDTVL. It asks me for a user (this field indicates “anonymous” by default") and a password. But my win 7 folder is not password protected. Not even my win 7 OO is. The Network in the device is correctly configured. Can you help me?
Thanks
It depends on how you share the folder.
If you share to “Everyone,” then the default User ID “anonymous” and a blank password will work fine.
I just did it. But didn’ work…
Please, any help?
This seems easy to resolve for those who have experience with shared folders in windows 7. Thanks.
hey mate
i had the same problem
see if this works
WD TV - username and password below
Username - admin
password -
there is no password
Thanks. But it didn’t work either…
maybe try resetting the machine to the defults settings and set the network setting back to normal

i could be wrong
It’s resolved. The problem was in “Network and Sharing Center” of Win 7. Even you are not using passwords, you have to “Turn off password protected sharing”.
Thanks to everyone.

Yep. I discovered this early on in the game, too. I also have the WD player set to Auto logon to shares in the setup menu somewhere. No issues w/passwords; I just click and go.
