Shared network with Snow Leopard, "No storage found" message

Hi,

I received my WD Hub Live few days ago and I really enjoy it. Very easy to use and configure but I have a problem if I want to read some of my Macbook contents. I can put files on the WD Hub Live HDD through the network but the box don’t see the computer. All the online functions work except this.

I activated the sharing files on the Macbook with this tutorial,

http://wdc.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/wdc.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=3788

but I have a “No storage found” message when I change the source to choose the shared network…

Any ideas ?

Thanks in advance.

It’s working since I configure the workgroup name on the mac.

Configure workgroup name?

Could you give some details on this?

The Windows workgroup that the mac uses is now set in the Network System Preferences pane in Snow Leopard.
I clicked on Netword, then Airport (or Ethernet…) and configure. Once this is done, click the Advanced button and then select the WINS tab. From here, you can now select your workgroup from the drop-down menu.

@ Julianito: Thanks for sharing your findings so far, helped me out a lot. However I still cannot make the full connection as when I select workgroup of want to make contact with my MAC from the WD TV Live HUB, it asks for a username and password of my mac. Do you perhaps know which password this is (I thought it was my regular username and password, but this didn’t work)? Thanks so much in advance!

I left anonymous and the default password and it worked.

Hmm, I still cant even get that far. Still the NO STORAGE PRESENT…

Doesn’t work tonight, it worked yesterday…

I downloaded Playback for Mac and all is ok now, I think I will pay it to have something easy to configure.

I guess Playback is a media-streamer similar to Twonky - yes, this will let you access your network from the HUB, but can you copy files from your NAS or Mac to the internal storage on the HUB thru this??
