Some files not visible (and other weird problems)

Hi,

I own a My Book World Edition 1Tb.  Since I bought it I have weird problems with it:

  1. In the Public folder, all three of the Shared videos, Shared Music and Shared pictures are doubled.  All pairs of double folder contain the same files.  When I add a file to one “Shared Music” folder, for instance, it also appears in the other “Shared music” folder.  Yet, they take only the space of one folder on the hard drive!  It’s like if it was only a virtual copy.

  2. My other problem, which is much more annoying is that I can access only part of the files that are on the drive.  For example, if I copy a file in the “Shared videos” folder, it sometimes disappears so I can’t access it.  A few minutes later, or a few days later, it reappears, but all the other files that were accessible before disappeared.  It’s like if there were two sets of data that cannot be seen at the same time and that I cannot control.

Any help would be appreciated!

A Weird problem indeed. You can backup the files and do a full system restore.
