As a sales company we have all our images on a My Cloud so the sales team can show clients their ads. Someone today tried to email someone an image and is getting Unable to send file. Make sure your email application is properly configured. Is there a setting I need to change on the native iPad mail app? It doesn’t give me the option to email it through outlook.
You can’t do it the way you tried. You have to first download the photo, etc, from the My Cloud device into the My Cloud app’s “Downloads” folder. The user can then select to create an email and attach the photo in downloads folder to the email and send it. Suggest folks practice by sending the photo to themselves at first.
Just remember photo etc, must be in app’s Downloads folder before attempting to send.
Thank you. Does “share link” add any extra files to the cloud? I instructed them to do that till I found a solution.
I have no idea what share link does; likely never used it.
OK, NEW instructions that just worked for me now. NOTE: I have the most current version of My Cloud app on my iPad that was released and installed yesterday.
View photo on iPad from MC device
Tap on upload symbol in upper right corner of screen
Select Email, and a blank email appears with photo attached
Address email and add any text to message and tap Send
I sent it to my email address, and it was there very quickly with photo displayed.
THIS is the way it should have worked in the past, but as I recall it did not, so maybe the new app version is necessary.
Bottom line – no problem now.
I have the new version but I am not able to email it.
Edit: I was able to get it to work. Had to change the restrictions of my MDM.
Good. What is a MDM?
Mobile device management. Lets me restrict the iPads so the sales team can’t play angry birds instead of working.
