Using MyBook Live with NetDuma router

Hi folks,

I recently purchased a NetDuma gaming router and have successfully set it up to enable various devices to access the internet/home network. However, I’m having difficulty in finding my MBL on the network.

It’s plugged into port 5 on the router - has a green steady light on both router and at the back of the MBL - but I can’t see it on the network. Using the NetDuma software, I can see there are a couple of “nameless devices” on the network, but when I try to connect to these through a browser, I can’t get connected.

Does anyone have any thoughts/experience in getting setup with a NetDuma and MBL?

Cheers
Kev

Hello, I have never used a NetDuma router, unfortunately I would not have any ideas, other than comparing the MAC addresses that shows in the DHCP list with the MAC address in the MBL and see if the drive is being recognized in the router.

When folks change routers with their MBLs, a common problem is that they had the MBL set to a static IP address for the old router, then when attached to the new router the MBL is unable to get assigned a new IP since it is still running static.
Hook up your old router to the MBL and make sure that in Dashboard that the MBL is set to DHCP not static.

Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately, it’s not even being found on the old network now :frowning:

I’ve tried using the paperclip/reset method and still not showing up. I have a steady green(-ish) light, which would suggest that it’s up and running and everything is ok.

when you switch the MBL to the different router, you must reboot the router.
Also for the reset, you must ensure that you hold the reset button for the EXACT right amount of time - too much and it doesn’t work.
