WD Black drive shows as IDE in DLGDiag

My WD500 Black shows as IDE instead of SATA. This only concerns me because I have been having problems in my Windows 10 upgrade. No known issues in Windows 7 Pro. In W10 I cannot create restore points. Keep getting shadow copy provider had error (who is shadow copy provider?). My frustration led me to try to RESET W10. It spends 20 to 30 mins. trying to do a restore but then quits with an error “Inaccessable boot disk” and OS is not reset. Is there any correlation with what is see listed below? Is this really drive related at all.

Board: Gigabyte GA- F2A88X-D3H

AMD CPU: A10-7850K

Memory: Crucial 16 gb

PS: Thermaltake 550w

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hello and welcome to the WD community.

Even if the drive shows as IDE, have you tried to test the drive to see if the test goes without problems? Also try to change the SATA port to see if you get the same result.

I really wish a WDC engineer would answer his question and a few of mine. I have a number of systems either running SSD system drive and WDC data drive under AHCI or Velociraptor system drive with SSD cache under RAID (DZ68 chipset). On the former systems, all drives, SSD and WDC, are listed as IDE, never SATA. On the RAID systems, the Velociraptor is listed as SCSI Int. What’s up with that?

P.S. All drives are connected via SATA 6.0 Gbit/s connections.
