WD Media Server and WMV files

I have 16 WMV files on a 2TB MyBookLive.  The twonky media server recognizes them all.  I updated to the latest firmware last night and swapped to the DLNA media server.  It only recognizes 2 of the 16 files as videos files.  The other 14 it says are Music files.  The only thing I can figure is that the 2 that are recognized are the 2 smallest files.  All files were created from a home video camera by importing with windows movie maker.  What could be the problem?

Hi, from the My Book dashboard, go to Settings/Media/Status and click on the rescan option, if the files don’t show you can click on rebuilt.

I’ve tried both with no success.

I have seen the same issue.

I don’t know much about coedecs and media files, but after talking to a friend I believe that the WMV is a container file. In it there is at least a video and audio “file” that get played at the same time.

My guess is that some of your internal “files” are different. Similar issues have happened to me with player. Were a player will play one MKV and not another.

Twonky is sees all the files correctly.  I will stick with that for now.  I have another drive that I can use for mkv files that play with the new dlna server and not with the older twonky version.
