My Hub is on the way. I have a couple questions

I just pulled the trigger and bought the live hub T1 today. I want to use it for a few things and would like some tips for efficient set up.

I often Download torrents and would like to drag and drop them to the hub from my PC upstairs and watch on my TV downstairs. If I place the hub downstairs, will I be able I do this wirelessly with a compatible usb adapter?

Also, I would like to stream Live TV. Not sure what kind of issues I will encounter.

Thanks in advance for all the kind assistance and replies.

Best option to connect it to your network is on the wire, not wireless. It’ll work on wifi but it’s MUCH better on cat5e.

I recently purchased a gigabit 5 port switch. I do not have a gigabit network (getting ready for it) BUT I did see a slight increase in the file transfer speed from my PC to the Hub!

Thats good to know. I’m really a novis with all this stuff. Thanks for the reply.

I have my WDTvLiveHub connected wirelessly in my homenetwork and loading content to it from a PC upstairs by dragging and dropping files into the WDTV folder is the norm.  I don’t use a USB adaptor but assuming you chose a compatible and reliable adaptor you shouldn’t have a problem. I use a second router configured as a wireless bridge to connect my WDHUB in the den to my main router upstairs.  Also plugged in to the wireless bridge are my DVR, DVD player, and Ooma. Transfer speeds can be slow to the HUB.  I usually just set files to download and walk away.  I have not tried to stream Live TV but streaming Netflix to the TV is not a problem.

How do you have it connected wirelessly to your home network?

I currently have a Samsung TV down stairs and connect to the internet with a linkstick in my samsung Blue Ray Player.
